I never start a garden in a field sprayed with pesticides?

I want to start a small organic garden on land that has been sprayed with herbicide while ago. Can I make it safe to grow food?

Just keep up on the addition of organic matter such as compost and keep your soil alive and healthy and do not worry about the chemicals used in the past. Most have probably migrated either in the water system or already failed. Almost all the land we use to produce food has been hit with pesticides / herbicides / Fungicides in the past all you can do is improve what you have and do not apply. That is what the transition to materials Organic is all about with producers that are commercial in nature and seeking their land certified organic.
