Organic Gardening Centres
What kind of chemical reactions can occur with i Brimstone?
I just browsing the garden center and came across a box sulfur! Its for fungi on plants etc! I do organic chemistry, so I bought it thinking I can do experiments or homemade Mess with her! Any ideas what I could do? I can not have access to aggressive chemicals and I do not want to hydrogen sulfide … for obvious reasons! So any ideas? Or fun things to do with it! The sulfur is 97.9% pure powder form!
Do not eat! (But it is a component in some shampoos). Here are some real uses: http://www.georgiagulfsulfur.com/uses.htm Probably the most fun thing to do is physical, Non-chemical. See if you can google ways to form different sulfur crystals. (The things you've seen is probably "flowers" of sulfur.) You could also enjoy reading stories claiming that Charles Goodyear discovered vulcanization of sulfur when it mixes with latex and accidentally spilled on a hot stove. Do not try this at home!
