Starting Garden Seeds Indoors
It can be easy and inexpensive to start garden seeds indoors for spring planting. Here in the garden glove, we use several methods.
Method # 1 – Buy an inexpensive dome style seed starter from your local garden center or discount store. These usually sell for under $ 10 and include everything except the seeds for you more and more, including a dome moisture to retain heat, and cubes of soil or soil less. The only drawback is that these blocks are increasingly being generally fairly small, so if you going to plant fast growing annuals such as sunflowers, morning glories or squash, you can expect from just two weeks before last frost. Otherwise, you'll to transplant your seedlings into larger containers as they grow dome seed.
This method works well for perennials, since they are growing slower than the annual rule.

Method # 2
The second method is more economical. This is where we plant seeds in reusable containers or recyclable. These containers must be well drained and be able to move easily. Tupperware egg cartons or pots made from recycled newspaper are several popular ideas. Placed on a tray, like a cookie sheet old they are planting large apartments, so not too terribly attractive. It allows the use of this method for place the entire tray in a polythene bag until shoots appear. This does the same job as the dome of $ 10, keeping the heat and humidity.
Method # 3 – This is my preferred method, and the one I just started using it two years ago. I picked table portable greenhouse. It has several metal shelves for planting flats covered by a poly "tent" to keep the heat and humidity. It is very easy for me to set up the outside during the day, and the tent keeps the heat even when it is outside close to zero. I can grow several hundred seedlings in this configuration. I would caution you against letting the outside in windy conditions, however. Keep in mind during the sunny days, it can heat the inside of the house fairly quickly, so be sure to attach one side and occasionally monitor the temps in your greenhouse. When the weather is warm enough, remove the poly tents completely.
Once the plants are in place, they must have very bright but not direct light. Using a window when bad weather is acceptable, but to grow healthy and strong, plants must be placed either in artificial light, or a protected porch for much of the day. Be sure to bring them into night, and do not let them on cold.
You can create a system of artificial light with a light easily buy cheapest store home improvement, and once a warm and cool fluorescent tube 40 watt. It need not be one of the more expensive tubes of plants growing. Hang string lights from a 2×4 stand out debris. Keep the lights very close to the seedlings, and let stand at least 12 hours per day.
