Texas Organic Gardening
Insecticide house?
I am giant sunflowers, spinich and rhubarb in a small garden. As usual, bugs are eating away the leaves. I live in the Texas heat. I try to use an organic insecticide house that does not hurt when I put it away in the heat of my garage for next season or next season. What have you all used? The easier the better.
For years I used this recipe for a biological insecticide. 1 gal. hot water, 1 cup of instant coffee crystals, a squirt of dish soap (not detergent), several dashes Tobasco sauce. Spray both sides of leaves, stems and soil around plants. You can cut this recipe as you would reduce all income. I store on the left my basement in winter, refreshing the next year with a little Tobasco sauce. If you do that kess gal. you can just throw awy th new beginning in the spring. Do not use instant coffee powder. Will not dissolve well. Insecticidal soap is a surface that helps hold the leaves. I think the key may be Tobasco sauce. Good Luck.
